Website Migration Services That Keep Your URLs, Rankings and Tracking in Place

BX moves websites between platforms, hosts and domains with our web team and SEO team working on the same plan. Every old URL is mapped, redirected and checked, and your forms, tracking and Search Console are tested before and after the switch.

Who this is for

  • Businesses moving from Wix, Squarespace, Webflow or a custom CMS to WordPress
  • Stores moving from WooCommerce or another ecommerce platform to Shopify
  • Sites changing hosting provider for speed, cost or support reasons
  • Companies changing domain name after a rebrand, merger or move to a country domain
  • Teams combining several sites or subdomains into one
  • Marketing teams that rely on organic search and ad tracking and cannot afford to lose either during a move

Problems we solve

  • ✕Old URLs that end in 404 errors after launch because nobody built a redirect map
  • ✕Redirect chains and loops left behind by earlier moves
  • ✕Page titles, meta descriptions, headings and structured data lost when content is copied to a new platform
  • ✕Images, PDFs and blog posts left on the old system or linked to the old domain
  • ✕Contact forms, call tracking and Google Analytics or ads conversion events that stop recording after the switch
  • ✕Email, DNS and SSL settings that break when the domain or host changes

What is included

Pre-migration crawl and benchmark

We crawl the current site and export Search Console, Analytics and backlink data to list every URL that earns traffic, links or conversions. This becomes the benchmark we compare against after launch.

URL mapping and redirect plan

Every old URL is mapped to its closest new page, including blog posts, images and PDFs. Google recommends mapping old URLs to new ones and using permanent server side redirects such as 301s, sent directly to the final page without chains.

Content and SEO element transfer

Page copy, titles, meta descriptions, headings, image alt text, canonical tags and structured data are moved and checked page by page, not left to an import tool alone.

Platform moves

Wix, Squarespace or Webflow to WordPress, WordPress to Shopify, WooCommerce to Shopify, and moves between WordPress hosts. Our WordPress development and Shopify development teams handle the build on the new platform.

Hosting and domain moves

For hosting moves we copy and test the site on the new server before the DNS switch. For domain changes we set up redirects from every old URL and submit Google's Change of Address request in Search Console, which Google provides for domain and subdomain moves.

Media, files and data transfer

Images, PDFs, downloads, user accounts and, for stores, products, customers and order history are moved with their file names and alt text kept where the new platform allows, so links to them keep working through redirects.

Tracking and form checks

Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, ads conversion tags, call tracking and every form are tested on staging and again on the live site.

Launch checklist

We remove staging blocks such as noindex tags, publish the new sitemap, test a sample of redirects, check SSL and confirm email and DNS records.

Post-launch monitoring

We watch Search Console for crawl errors and indexing, compare traffic and rankings with the benchmark, and fix missed redirects as they show up. If the old site already had indexing or speed problems, our technical SEO team fixes them on the new build rather than carrying them over.

What you get from it

1

Web and SEO teams on one plan

The people building the new site and the people protecting your search traffic share the same URL map and checklist.

2

Fewer surprises after launch

Redirects, forms and tracking are tested before the switch, so problems are found on staging instead of by customers.

3

Your history comes with you

Blog posts, product pages, images and the links other sites point to keep working through redirects to their new homes.

4

Clear before and after reporting

The pre-migration benchmark shows how clicks, indexed pages and conversions compare after launch, page by page.

5

Ongoing care when you want it

After the move, our website maintenance plans cover updates, backups and security checks on the new site.

How we work

1

Migration audit

We review the current platform, hosting, domain setup, top pages, backlinks and tracking, and agree what is moving and what is changing.

2

Benchmark and URL map

We record current traffic and rankings, then build the full redirect map for your approval.

3

Build and test on staging

Content, SEO elements, forms and tracking are moved to the new platform or host, kept out of search with noindex, and tested.

4

Switch

We deploy redirects, update DNS or publish the new site, remove staging blocks, submit the new sitemap and run the launch checklist.

5

Monitor and fix

We track Search Console, Analytics and rankings against the benchmark and fix any missed redirects or errors.

Pricing

Website migrations are quoted per scope after a short migration audit. The price depends on the number of URLs to map, the source and destination platforms, how much content and data needs to move (for stores: products, customers and orders), whether the design changes at the same time, and how many forms and tracking tags need to be rebuilt. If the move includes a new build, use the website cost calculator for a first range, then tell us about your migration.

For a multi-branch building materials supplier in Australia, we launched a 96-page redesign alongside SEO work; the July 2026 redesign month started the steepest climb, and Google clicks reached 637 in August 2026, up from 268 a year earlier. For a corporate services group in Singapore and Malaysia, our work included mapping redirects; 46 tracked keywords rank higher than in March 2026 and 19 now rank #1. For a US commercial solar installer, we fixed 54 broken pages and moved 52 pages onto one CRM form.

Frequently asked questions

What do website migration services include?

A crawl and benchmark of the current site, a URL map and redirect plan, transfer of content and SEO elements, testing of forms and tracking on staging, the switch itself and monitoring in Search Console afterwards.

Will a site migration hurt my rankings?

Any move carries some risk, and traffic can fluctuate while Google processes the new URLs. Mapping every URL, using permanent redirects, keeping SEO elements and monitoring Search Console reduce that risk. We cannot promise rankings, but we can show you the benchmark and the results after launch.

What is an SEO site migration?

It is a migration planned around search: protecting the URLs, content and links that bring traffic. In practice it means a redirect map, matching titles and content, a new sitemap, and close checks in Search Console after launch. Our technical SEO team runs this part.

Do I need redirects if I only change hosting?

Not if every URL stays exactly the same. Google treats a hosting move without URL changes differently from a move with URL changes. The main work is testing the copy on the new server and switching DNS carefully.

How long should redirects stay in place?

Google advises keeping redirects for at least a year, and keeping them longer is reasonable. We recommend leaving them in place permanently where your platform allows it.

Can you move my site from Wix or Squarespace to WordPress?

Yes. We rebuild the design on WordPress, move pages, posts and images, keep titles and descriptions, and redirect the old URLs to the new ones. For the design side of the move, see how we migrate to WordPress with custom themes.

Should we redesign and migrate at the same time?

It can be done in one project, and it often saves rework. It does mean more pages change at once, so the URL map, content checks and benchmark matter even more. Our website redesign service and the migration plan share one checklist when both happen together.

Can you migrate a store to Shopify?

Yes. We move products, customers and order history, then import the redirect map using Shopify's URL redirect tool. Shopify redirects only work from URLs that no longer load a page, so we check them after the old store is switched off.
