Los Angeles rules checked before launch
The City of Los Angeles requires most people doing business inside city limits to hold a Business Tax Registration Certificate from the Office of Finance, and businesses in neighboring cities register with those cities. State law adds the Honest Pricing rule, SB 478, in effect since July 1, 2024, which requires advertised prices to include mandatory fees. The Unfair Competition Law and False Advertising Law can be enforced by the Attorney General, district attorneys and city attorneys. Restaurants are graded by LA County Public Health, and short-term rental hosts must show a city registration number in listings. We confirm these items with each client before launch.
