Massachusetts rules checked before launch
Federal rules apply first: FTC guidance on endorsements and claims, CAN-SPAM for email and the TCPA for calls and texts. Massachusetts then adds its own layers. Chapter 93A, the state consumer protection statute, reaches unfair and deceptive advertising and carries real exposure when a claim cannot be supported. The data security regulation 201 CMR 17.00 expects any business holding residents' personal information to keep a written information security program, which matters when lead lists and CRM exports move between teams. Chapter 159C sets calling-hour limits and a state Do Not Call list for telemarketing. Registered home improvement contractors must show their registration number in advertising. A comprehensive consumer privacy bill passed the Senate in 2025 and the House in 2026 and went to a conference committee, so we confirm its status before any launch.
