The Missouri marketSt. Louis, Kansas City and a long list of regional hubs
St. Louis and Kansas City anchor the state, and they behave like separate markets. St. Louis city and St. Louis County, St. Charles and Jefferson County make up one search area, where Anheuser-Busch, BJC HealthCare and Washington University are among the large employers. The Kansas City side spans Jackson, Clay and Platte counties and crosses the state line into Kansas, where Garmin is based in Olathe. Customers on the Kansas side see the same local ads, so we decide with each client whether to treat Johnson County as part of the plan or as a separate budget.
Springfield, home to the first Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World store, anchors the southwest, while Joplin, Columbia, Jefferson City and St. Joseph serve large rural areas at lower click costs. Branson, less than four hours from both Kansas City and St. Louis, draws families who search for shows, lodging and lake activities months before a trip. Searchers compare reviews and photos closely, so Google Business Profile quality often decides who gets the booking. The Lake of the Ozarks adds a summer rental and boating trade with its own timing. Smaller cities also run on referrals, so reviews and local citations carry extra weight.
Oracle Health, which acquired Cerner in 2022, has deep roots in Kansas City and supports a health technology cluster of staffing, consulting and software firms. Agriculture, logistics and the river and rail corridors add a sizeable business-to-business market. Contract carriers, rail-served warehouses and barge-linked suppliers search with technical terms, so landing pages carry capacity, service area and equipment detail. For those sellers we write for the people who specify and approve purchases, and we track inquiries through to quotes so budget follows the channels that produce signed work. Reporting shows each of those channels separately.
